Richard Daggenhurst was educated at Oxford University, England, where he read Law and got a Boxing Blue as a member of the Varsity boxing team. After graduating, he attended the Inns of Court School of Law and passed the Bar exam; he is admitted as a barrister to the Bar of England and Wales as a member of the Inner Temple. After admission, he worked in the City of London and on Wall Street, working as a bond trader for Dean Witter, Nomura, Merrill Lynch and Salomon Brothers through the 1980s. He then set up his own investment management firm and developed an automated computerized trading system that advised and traded in-house and client funds in stocks, bonds and commodities.
Working for investment clients, he moved to the far East to manage industrial manufacturing investments. He later moved to California and was admitted to the California Bar in 2003; he first volunteered for, and then worked at, the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, as a trial lawyer in its Eviction Defense Center, thereby gaining extensive litigation and settlement experience in client matters. Richard has tried more than 500 cases and has handled or settlend more than 1000 landlord tenant matters.
Daggenhurst is a member of the Los Angeles County, Pasadena, San Gabriel, and San Fernando Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice law throughout the State of California, and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Daggenhurst is fluent in Spanish, German, Greek and French. He is married with three sons, and he enjoys bicycling (he is a certified qualified bicycle mechanic), reading, and classical music.
